Graveyard Cake Recipe   




 

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) chocolate frosting
  • 1 (15 ounce ) package chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed
  • 1 package white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup green sprinkles
  • Assorted Halloween candy, such as candy corn, gummy worms, tombstones, and skulls

Instruction

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9*13 inch baking pan
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Beat until well blended.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted inth the center comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.
  5. To make the tombstones, melt the white choccolate chips and heavy cream in a microwave-safebowl, stirring until smooth. Pour the melted chocolate into a small mold, such as a silicone ice cube tray, and refrigerate for a least 30 minutes, or until set.
  6. Once the cake is cool, spread the chocolate frosting evenly over the top.
  7. Sprinkle the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies over the frosting to create a dirt effect.
  8. Arrange the tombstones and other Halloween candy on top of the cake.
  9. Sprinkle the green sprinkles around the tombstones to represent grass.
  10. Enjoy Cake

Tips.

  • If you don't have a silicone ice cube tray, you can pour the melted chocolate onto a piece of parchment paper and cut it into tombstone shapes once it has set.
  • To make the cake ahead of time, bake the cake and allow it to cool completely. Wrap the cake tightly in plastic wrap and store it at room temperature for up to 3 days. Frost and decorate the cake just before serving
